🇩🇰 Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2026: Format Revealed! Who Will Win? (2026)

🎶 Get ready for a thrilling musical showdown in Denmark! 🎶

The Danish broadcaster DR has unveiled the highly anticipated format for the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2026 final, and it's set to be a captivating battle of melodies. But here's where it gets exciting: the competition will feature a unique two-phase final, adding an extra layer of suspense!

In the first phase, eight talented acts will take the stage, but only three will advance to the Super Final. The selection process is a democratic affair, with 50% of the decision in the hands of televoting and the other 50% determined by a jury. And this is the part most people miss: the Super Final will be a fresh start, with both the public and the jury voting again to crown the ultimate winner.

The lineup for the first round is stacked with musical talent:

  1. Sander Sanchez and their captivating 'Two Spirits'
  2. Late Runner, asking 'Can U Feel It?'
  3. Søren Torpegaard Lund's heartfelt 'Før vi går hjem'
  4. Sissal, who previously represented Denmark at Eurovision 2025, returns with 'Infinity'
  5. Emil Otto's mysterious 'Copenhagen Noir'
  6. Myrkur's haunting 'Touch My Love And Die'
  7. Lasse Skriver, bringing the 'Roaring Heart'
  8. Ericka Jane, with the powerful 'Death Of Me'

The voting process is inclusive, with viewers in the Faroe Islands and Greenland also able to participate via app and SMS voting.

The Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2026 will be hosted by the charismatic duo, TV and radio host Sara Bro and actor Alex Høgh Andersen, on February 14 in Frederikshavn. This marks Sara Bro's third time hosting the event, a testament to her popularity and expertise.

Denmark has a rich history at the Eurovision Song Contest, having won three times since their debut in 1957. From Grethe & Jorgen Ingmann's victory in 1963 to the Olsen Brothers' triumph in 2000, and most recently, Emmelie de Forest's win in 2013, Denmark has consistently showcased exceptional musical talent.

But what do you think about the two-phase final format? Is it a fair way to determine the winner, or does it add unnecessary complexity? Share your thoughts below, and let's discuss the exciting world of Eurovision!
